Inspiration behind Put Me
Miami Bass
The inspiration behind Put Me starts with the Miami Bass-style drums. What is Miami Bass anyway? Jubilee has a groovy article over it. In short, Miami Bass started in the late 1980’s, I personally like the hip-hop group, 2 Live Crew. Other artists include: Egyptian Lover (who has a dope Mixmag DJ set), 69 Boyz, Freak Nasty, and my personal favorite, Quad City DJs. QCD made the Space Jam Theme Song back in the 90s.
Nevertheless, I personally draw so much inspiration from these tracks in so many ways⏤the singing, call-and-responses, drums, party-fun vibe, among so much more. Put Me, along with my upcoming releases draw from this 80-90s party vibe, especially with the drum patterns. Enjoy some Miami Bass classics with ZZISCO’s Spotify playlist.
The sounds in Miami Bass mainly include some fat bass and other elements from the Roland-TR 808, which is a drum machine created in the 80s. This drum machine is super popular, lots of tracks from the 90s used the sounds from the 808 drum machine. If you’re interested about this drum machine, Roland has a groovy website where you can create some beats from the 808 and the 303.
Tech-House
As the Dirtybird Artist, Ernesto has said in his podcast, Tech-house is turning into the new EDM. Essentially meaning, it’s like you know, the cool thing to do now. So, I won’t go too deep into what tech-house is because it’s identity is some what ubiquitous in my opinion. But, some tech-house artists that inspire me and my sound design include: Walker & Royce, Arnold & Lane, Sage Armstrong, Luke Andy, plus several others. The track Pop It sparked hella inspiration for me to write Put Me.
Vulgar language in pop-culture
Don’t get me wrong, I like using a cuss word or two, especially when driving home a point. However, I think we can all remember at least one song that uses vulgar language superfluously. Using it in a way that’s just not needed, potentially in a way that screams, “I’M A MAN!” I’m definitely not throwing judgment, rather explaining one element of inspiration behind Put Me, and the hook especially. I was going for an unexpected goofy reaction from those that hear it.
House of Hustle
To be honest, I really didn’t know if anyone would pick up this track due to the assumption that people may not resonate with being put in a stroller. But I’m beyond blessed that House of Hustle’s Sub Label, House of Bangerz is housing it! Put Me is ZZISCO’s first released single and after seeing some of the other artists that have released on House of Bangerz, there’s strong hope for the future in club music. Some of those artists include: Black V Neck, Dipzy, Teknicoz, Two Tails, GuzBass, among others.
ZZISCO’s Style for Put Me
This single is the epitome of ZZISCO’s style: Tech-House sounds, Miami Bass style drums, goofy vocals, and Egyptian-style melodies. At the core, ZZISCO is a humorous person, making jokes within his everyday life and even at times going to comedy open mics. All of his close friends know not to take him or what he says too too seriously, unless we’re talking psychological stuff. ZZISCO draws mad inspiration from skits and sketch comedy like Saturday Night Live, Mad-TV, and his personal favorite growing up, All-That. ZZISCO also plans to make up some alternative personas of his own in order to continue making funny tracks without people taking him too seriously. For instance, one persona that’s been created is Old Head Fred, a very old feminine pimp, kind of like Money Mike from Friday After Next. With 1 track ready to be released on 3.29.22 with Spoon Fed Records.
2022⏤What’s Poppin’ Baby?
Definitely be on the lookout for ZZISCO’s upcoming releases! He’s got two tracks coming out on two separate compilations, one with Rock Bottom Records and the other with Spoon Fed Records. Not to mention, we have three EPs planned for 2022.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Peace, Love & Courage!
Great story behind the scenes. Love it.
